Wedding Makeup Trial Tips
How to prepare for your Bridal Makeup Trial:
- Try to schedule your hair & makeup trial in the same day! If it’s not possible, come in with your hair styled, avoid wearing black / dark / multi colours. Pick clothes that are a similar colour to your Wedding dress.
- Pick a top with a similar neckline to your dress.
- Find your dress before booking your trial, as the style of your dress may affect hair / makeup choice.
- Start looking for inspiration to incorporate for your wedding day look, know what you like, but also what you don’t want. Pinterest is great, but remember some images are unrealistic and heavily edited.
- Focus on skincare. Look at finding out what your skin needs, and take steps in looking after it, as this will help prepare you for your Wedding when you want to look your best. You may consider chatting to a skincare specialist to create a tailored regime.
- On the day of your trial, have to hand photos of how you usually wear your makeup, including on a night out / special occasion. This will help your Makeup Artist understand the style and amount of makeup you are used to.
- When looking for inspiration, look at makeup looks on people with similar hair and eye colour to yourself.
- When you have your makeup trial, always be honest – you will never offend a Makeup Artist by asking them to make changes to the look. Makeup is truly personal.
- After your trial, wear the makeup for as long as you can, and give your makeup artist feedback. The more feedback you give, the better the final result.
- If you are going to tan on your wedding day, come to your trial with a tan whether it’s professional or just a tan you use at home.
- FINALLY, don’t waste your glam! Try to get your engagement photos done, spend the day out, go for food, plan a date night etc.
